The “auto” of this world experience

Going from Mumbai to Pune was something I did very often. My family stayed there.  I had to get up real early to get there.I got ready, packed my bags and went to the bus stop.  I waited for the bus to come at its normal time of 5:40 am. Imagine the unearthly hour I needed to get up at.  I did it anyway because in the end, I could visit my family and get my beauty sleep for 2 straight days and then… Ugh ! I didn’t want to think about “then”. The week would start again and so would work. Sometimes, I hated it and sometimes I loved it. This was one of those times I was not looking forward to the work week.

I was waiting at the bus stop alone and it was still dark out. Dark because it was winter and the sun did not rise till late. Did I mention I was cold too ?  It was way too early, wasn’t it? I was cranky alright. Man! I needed a caffeine kick. I waited 12-15 minutes before I started panicking about missing my train. It was a long way to the station. I started to look out for autos. Once I saw one, I waved to catch his attention but he ignored me. After that, I just stood there for a while. Continue reading

Life, Waiting

When you feel that everything falls apart all around you, or you are feel hopeless, have you analysed what’s wrong or have you just moved on thinking it’s better to go with the flow. If a problem heads your way, have you solved it? Is there something you want to do but are not doing anymore, or that you are missing something in your life, like chutzpah? If you answer these questions in the negative, find out if you have lost IT at the local psychiatric centre. 🙂 Kidding !!
Just try to answer  these below questions(from another website) and find your way back to happiness. Err..maybe thats overkill!! Well, the website had guaranteed it. I found it useful, so go ahead  and give it a try.

1) Look back and think of when you were happiest

When did you thrive the most in your life? Looking back, there must have been key joyous moments in your lives: practicing dance moves in the basement as a teenager; traveling to another country; dancing all night in a disco with friends; participating in school’s extra curricular activities ? Notice a couple of themes here? Dance,Friends and travel.

When i answered these questions, I realized that I had laughed more, loved more, and had immense energy. I had felt like I was finally truly alive. Who are you meant to be?

2) Open your eyes and pay attention to what goes by

Instead of automatically just moving through each day, be on the lookout for things that light you up, or spark an interest. What movies capture your interest or move you the most? What would you love to try?

3) Notice what makes you mad or upset

What do you resent the most  in your life? If you’re having a particularly grumpy day, what set you off? What’s most likely to put you in a bad mood? If you find yourself feeling annoyed or jealous of something that someone else is doing, ask yourself why. Are they doing something you want to do? Are they preventing you from doing something you need to do? Emotions are great signposts, if you’re willing to do the digging to find out what they’re really about.

Have you ever felt that you feel a  deep frustration after  a day’s work or on getting back from vacation even though you have everything you wanted.  Thinking back helps in a way that surprises and clues may begin to show up on the page.

4) Keep a diary and write often

This might seem like a lame idea but go ahead and give it a try. The real you will find voice and it will turn your life upside down and might even make you happier.

5) Watch the signs from your body

Your body will tell you what resonates most with the real you, and when you’ve gone off your path or are betraying yourself. What makes you feel lighter and full of energy? What leaves you feeling drained? What makes you laugh? What makes you cry? (in a good way, and in a bad way) When do your neck and back ache? When do you get headaches? What makes your stomach churn with dread or unease? Pay attention to these physical clues – they will let you know when you’re getting closer to, or farther away from, yourself.

As you pay attention to each of these areas, you’ll discover more and more about the real you. Start doing more of those things that you’ve noticed move you, make you feel alive again, or give you more energy. Begin to avoid or change things that drain you, tense you up, or deaden your spirit. Over time, you’ll be more and more what you thought you always were or meant to be. Grab that umbrella and fly away.

Life is waiting for you !!!
